Aragonese centenary house
The building where Rad Icarium is located is an old farmer's house from the early twentieth century, built by our great-grandparents. Long ago, it lost its farming function and over the years the house deteriorated significantly, so we decided to completely renovate and convert it, preserving its original characteristics as much as possible, into completely new rural apartments equipped to offer guests a quality, quiet and comfortable accommodation, away from crowds, hustle and bustle in harmony with the natural environment and the building in which it is located.
The Lascorz family
The Lascorz descend from an old family of infanzones (former noble title of the kingdom of Aragon) that has always been committed to the development of the region and the sustainability of the rural environment. The old Lascorz house has always been an open house, a place where the people of the area have been welcomed, received with pleasure and found help when they have needed it. Rad Icarium Apartments is faithful to this tradition both with guests and with the neighbours.
Our coat of arms
Our coat of arms that adorns the façade was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1999. It is made of sandstone, on the crest there is a tufted helmet that means that it is a gentleman. In the first and fourth quarters there is an arm wielding a sword and in the second and third a raked door. As lambrequins or exterior ornaments you can see animal claws with strong sharp nails and plant motifs. Together, these elements reinforce the image of a family with a long tradition of defense, bravery and honour, connected to nature and the protection of the home and its lineage.
